Scope of Practice
In alignment with the Swiss framework distinguishing counselling, psychological counselling, and psychotherapy, this practice does not provide services for clients presenting with conditions that require clinical psychotherapy or specialized intervention.
Concerns Requiring a Higher Level of Care
-
Formally diagnosed mental health disorders (based on ICD-10 or DSM-V criteria) that require psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, or a higher level of support
-
Conditions involving psychosis or other significant psychiatric symptoms (e.g., hallucinations, delusions)
-
Significant or imminent risk of suicide or self-harm
-
Significant or imminent risk of harm to others
-
Situations involving domestic violence
-
Significant substance use that affects the ability to participate safely and meaningfully in counselling
-
Court-mandated counselling or legally required interventions
These concerns require a higher level of care, risk management, and/or in-person clinical support that falls outside the scope of online counseling and this counselling practice’s services.
If you are experiencing any of the above, it is important to seek support from a licensed psychotherapist, psychiatrist, or appropriate emergency services equipped to provide the necessary level of care and/or treatment for you.
